Southbrook Road.

THIS was our first full-on development with the help of architects and builders.
The Edwardian end of terrace hadn't been updated since the 1950s and had a tiny galley kitchen. So a rear extension with a large lantern was added to house a new kitchen, as well as a loft extension with dormer windows to add a double and single bedroom, plus a small bathroom on the top floor.
The house had been stripped of a lot of original features and the downstairs fireplaces had been replaced by Fifties gas fires. The flues were cleaned and character mantles were reinstated. The old cast iron claw-foot bath was kept and re-enamelled.
